Of the older and most important Nicaraguan brands, Don Duarte cigars were founded in 2008 by Dr. Roger Duarte-Rodríguez, who comes from a long line of Nicaraguan tobacco pioneers. Deeply connected to his country, he uses almost exclusively Nicaraguan tobacco.
The brand, now owned by Cigar Conexion, was restructured from seven blends down to its current three. A surge in sales during COVID-19 led the company to seek new factories for production.
