Rooted in the fertile lands of Estelí, Nicaragua—a region renowned for its world-class tobacco—Villa Vieja honors the local values of “work and passion” that have propelled Nicaraguan cigars to global prominence. Founded by Fernando Navarro, the brand pays homage to the origin of Estelí itself.
The journey to create Villa Vieja involved a meticulous, multi-year development process. After initial brand registration, we partnered with the esteemed Aganorsa factory in 2019. The project was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, but after extensive blending tests and collaboration with experts like Don Eduardo Fernández, the final blend was perfected. This blend is distinguished by an uncommon amount of expertly fermented Aganorsa tobacco from Estelí, yielding a special medium-to-full-bodied cigar with great aromas.
After three years of development, Villa Vieja launched in mid-2022 in three formats. The brand is a testament to the family sagas and tenacious work of Nicaraguan pioneers, whose legacy has made the country a leading cigar exporter and a paradise for tobacco lovers.
